Lime is used for repointing, rendering, plastering and lime washing buildings. It was traditionally used in buildings and is needed when renovating older properties that were originally constructed using lime. We also use lime on many sustainable builds because of its good environmental credentials.

Our homes use a huge amount of energy to heat them and as supplies of fossil fuels decrease, the price of heating our homes goes up. Before you consider alternative ways to heat your home, you must first consider how you will conserve any heat you put in. The only way to do this is to make sure that your home is well insulated.

Natural paint is good for people. It does not contain paint solvents which are mankind’s 2nd cause of climate changing emissions (VOCs), and does not include hazardous air particles (HAPs) such as formaldehyde (Source: European Solvents Association). These paint chemical emissions can last for months inside our homes.
Natural paint is also good for buildings. You can undo all the good work of making a building “breathe” by applying just one coat of synthetic paint.
The Sustainable Building Resource Centre has details of some of the best ranges of truly Natural Paint. All paints and tester pots can be ordered through the centre and delivered direct to your home.
