About Thermafleece
Thermafleece is a highly thermally efficient insulation and is
the only British wool insulation to be BBA certified
- (02/3950). Meaning that it totally complies with Building Regulations,
in between joists in ventilated and unventilated lofts; under pitched
roofs and between rafters for tiled or slated pitched roofs, as well
as timber frame wall applications between studding with a weather
resistant cladding, and a ventilated and drained cavity.
Thermafleece is made using the wools from sheep that graze the
upland areas of the UK , breeds such as Swaledale, Herdwick, Scotch
Blackface and Welsh Mountain to create an exceptionally efficient
thermal and acoustic building insulation.
Second Nature UK manufacture Thermafleece in Yorkshire , the heart
of the woollen and textile industry. The company aims to stimulate
the rural economy by adding value to British wool, a natural fibre
from a fully renewable resource and an incredibly efficient and versatile
raw material.
Manufactured to a density of 25kg/m3 giving a thermal conductivity
or K value of 0.039 W/mK. Thermafleece is sold in three thicknesses,
50mm, 75mm and 100 mm, which can be layered to achieve your required
depth and two widths or 'centres' of 400 or 600 mm.
Thermafleece gained Energy Savings Recommended Approval from the
Energy Saving Trust in 2007. Recommended products have
to adhere to strict criteria, which are independently tested, to
ensure that people can be confident that the product they are buying
meets the very highest standards in energy efficiency.
