About Us

The Sustainable Building Resource Centre is located in a straw bale house on site at DCRS and has been established since December 2005 with the aim of promoting Sustainable Building.   This would not have been possible without the help of a grant from Chalk and Cheese, through whom we will receive funding until September 2008.

The Centre promotes sustainable building through shows, both as an exhibitor and as a show and event organiser.   The shows hosted by the Centre bring together local companies in the industry from sustainable builders to renewable energy installers, and events range from public workshops to professional CPD's. 

The Resource Centre makes sustainable building easier by providing both advice and products, many of which are much harder to source than modern materials.   In a world where the word 'sustainable' is often misused and misunderstood, the Resource Centre promotes only truly natural or sustainable materials taking into account the complete life cycle of a product.
