"Power of Community - how Cuba survived Peak Oil"
This film will be showing at Child Okeford Village Hall on Friday 18th July 7pm for a 7.30pm start. As part of the Transition Town movement, this film will give people a better understanding of how 'Peak Oil' will effect communities, and provides many ideas for positive solutions to the problem.

Studio Space for Hire

Forge at DCRS
New Studio
We will soon have a new studio space for hire at DCRS which we think could be perfect for a local artist. It is 14" x 17" , has good light from a north facing window and we are about to install running water and a sink.
Some of the additional benefits of being based at the Centre include use of the kitchen facilities, occasional computer, printer and internet access in the main office, wireless internet access in teh studio, links on our website, the use of the lecture hall to exhibit work and parking
Forge Opportunity
We are also looking for a part-time or full-time residential blacksmith
who doesn't mind us having the forge for one or two days per month to run our courses.
New Workshop
At some time in the near future we are also hoping to create a workshop in the back of the barn to be rented out. There may be the possibility for someone to combine a carpentry or timber framing business with running occasional carpentry courses.
If any of these opportunities look like they could be for you, please phone us on 01747 811099 for more information and we will arrange a time to show you around.
